Kelly Spivey is a Brooklyn based filmmaker and has been making films since 1998. Her films focus on themes of class, gender, women’s roles and urban anxiety, especially in relationship to our increasingly frenetic lifestyles and information overload existence. Her work has screened nationally and internationally and has won various awards. She has received support from the Queens Council on the Arts, The New York State Council on the Arts, and New York Foundation on the Arts. She works at Brooklyn College as the Technology Manager and teaches Sound Design and Experimental Cinema.
